::This is about the restaurant at this hotel. Excellent classic fare. Had a great fish soup (with rouille!) followed by rainbow trout filleted at the table. This was accompanied by a little can of melted butter (yum) and lemon parts with that little metal tool that let's you press out the juice (as I said, classic).

::It was the second time my friends and I took some drinks at your (outside) terrace: where do you got those rude waiters?! We do not speak German but it does not mean they can be nice to everyone, and treat us with no respect and look down at us! I felt offended with some of the comments they made about our country of origins - they felt racist to me. The drinks were terrible too and more expensive than at any other local restaurant. Terrible experience, never again!

::Visited the restaurant on a Tuesday evening and it was packed. Make sure you have a reservation. I ordered the fried trout (Forelle Müllerin Art) with fried potatoes and salad. The trout was great, but the skin was a bit burnt. Fried potatoes tasted good, but all the onions were black (pro tip: add the onions add the end). Salad was good as well. I also tried the ratatouille, which was using unusual herbs (Arabian/Indian). I liked it, but not everybody did. Also a bit too oily and salty for my taste. I also tried some of the deserts. The tiramisu consisted of apricot, yoghurt and chocolate crumble and was not really my taste and had not much to do with a classic Tiramisu. The blackberry ice cream was the star of the evening. Outstanding, tasted very homemade. Even though I heavily criticized the food, I think the place deserves 4 stars in total. The atmosphere, service and the surrounding are great.

::I stayed at the Ruland Hotel-Restaurant twice, so in comparing my stays I would say the second room was considerably better than the first room. The first room was very small and noisy, both because the church bells strike quarterly, but also because there was heavy construction going on. The second room was on the other side of the building and was much more spaceous with a balcony and a gorgeous view! In general, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The personnel is very good and helpful. The breakfast buffet is wonderful, though it is better to come early than late. The biergarten is lovely all day long and the restaurant provides excellent food and drink. I would definitely stay here again!
