  Arrived at 5pm. nobody around - just a note to call a phone nr. You can just walk in. Keys are in the doors. Hallways dark. The guy that answered the call seems uniformed and unfriendly. Restaurant is closed, sauna is closed (apparently due to Covid). No breakfast (except for Sundays). Booked a room for four persons and got a room with two normal beds, and two very hard, child-sized matresses. At least there was warm water... Verdict: a well-deserved rating of 1 star!

  The room cleaning team must have been on holiday. Even after asking only the bare necessities were done. That said... as was the WiFi. Spotty at best. Other than that, the rooms are fine and comfy and the on place restaurant is decent. Though they can't seem to make a soft cooked egg for breakfast.

  We have stayed in this hotel for 6 days/ 5 nights. Although we had a great vacation because of the wonderful hikes we made in the Schwarzwald region, the hotel itself was a great disappointment, due to several reasons. The staff was very unfriendly and largely disinterested, the breakfast was limited (due to corona?), and - most problematic of all - we didn't have warm water in our bathrooms for four (!) days, because the hotel had 'forgotten' to order new fuel oil. Only after we complained for several days in a row, we managed to obtain a compensation. We would definitily recommend anyone to plan a vacation in the Schwarzwald region, but we would advice not to book the eventual stay in this hotel.

  Went to have dinner, a lot of the dishes on the menu weren't actually available, there were flies all over the place, the appetizers were served at the same time as the main course, the steak that was served was 20% fat, the waiter didn't know the answer to the easiest of questions (what the soup of the day was, for instance) without having to check with the kitchen. And to top it all off the only other waitress in the place lost her lid when someone addressed a mistake in regards to the dishes that were served.. the food itself was so-so, but definitely won't be heading back here.

  Very helpful & friendly staff. Clean, well appointed rooms. Good value. Nice food at the restaurant
