  Brilliant hotel. Staff are very courteous, knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms are spacious and quiet. Food in the restaurant is excellent as are the breakfasts. The wellness area is also a wonderfull place to relax, swim and enjoy the saunas

  Horrible experience for my first night. After a quite long day (my trip, massage and spa), i did not manage to fall asleep not too late. The hôtel boss uses a local under my room (n219) for stocking différent things (maybe for kitchen). There was a lot of noise all the time (people, door slamming). I was told by receptionnist to see reception for a new chamber tomorrow at 7h30. Not too good for my holiday. Hope they do it. I am disapointed. And the patron of the hôtel is old arrogant man, irrespectefull. No excuses, nothing. Look at you as you are nothing. Maybe they think as I am woman and stay alone in his hôtel they can do what they want. Fortunately, other staff is ok. Update for the 18th of August: we did not find à solution. The woman of boss was as arrogant as his husband. She joked about the bad starting of my holiday. Well, I wish she works better because I saw a cockroach in the bedroom this morning. And I am spending my holiday at Katherina hôtel from now and very pleased with service ! So do not worry for me. To resume, I do not recommand this hôtel! P.S. I have learned that the boss Ch. Baltes wants the victory at élections (hé is #2 in CDU party of Badenweiler). If he treats german population like his clients I pity them. There is no chance, but his hôtel is already ready for new refugees! Perfect

  We enjoyed a lovely dinner here at the Privathotel Post this past weekend with excellent service and tasty regional and seasonal specialties. Definitely make reservations on the weekend as this popular place for both locals and visitors fills very quickly. Thankfully we were able to snag a table for dinner without a reservation but I would definitely make reservations on a return visit. As you can see from the photos the menu is fantastic with plenty of options for local and regional fish recipes too. Within walking distance of everything in town and still tucked away from the major road. The interior of the restaurant is decorated in the traditional style with antiques and custom draperies and lamps. The features of fresh flowers and candles on the tables gives a romantic and special feeling for your meal as well.

  Ideal location, excellent restaurant and, on the whole, helpful and friendly staff. The hotel markets itself as a “wellness” hotel and the spa area is modern and of a high standard. However, what is unclear and somewhat misleading on the website and in the brochures is that the treatments - massages etc. - are not available on demand and, if you do not happen to be there on a certain day, they are not available at all. The glossy marketing also leads one to believe that the treatment rooms are modern and of a high standard. This is not the case - they are in the basement and in need of renovation. As I booked my stay based on the “wellness” offer I was more than disappointed and feel the hotel should rectify this point if they wish to remain credible. The four star rating is, overall, inaccurate. Three stars would be more accurate as many facilities are very basic or do not exist at all. My room certainly did not resemble the rooms in the brochure or on the website and I suspect I was in the part of the hotel which had not yet been renovated. If the hotel is not busy it seems that reception closes early and the “bar” or “wine-bar”( a standard feature of 4 star hotels) does not open at all. As other reviewers have also noted - the seating arrangements for breakfast are most peculiar. There is no freedom of choice to sit where you like. The dining room is spacious and was almost empty but we were herded into a small side room which was full to overflowing. Our protests resulted in us being allocated seats at a table in a corner of the, otherwise empty, dining room. No explanation was given for this strange behaviour. On the positive side the food is excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. Depending on your budget, it can be considered good value.
