  Pig club! The service has generally declined enormously in recent years, but since the branch has been unstaffed there has been nothing going on here. Once again I didn't get any money at the ATMs on the weekend. If you complain, you get a pre-written “letter of apology,” but no change. If I always have to drive to Lehrte to withdraw money anyway, I might as well change banks.

  The Volksbanks invest, among other things, in companies that produce parts of nuclear weapons, which is simply not acceptable. Apart from that, the functionality has been getting worse and worse lately: Online banking requires a TAN to register and view payment history, but you can only get it via an app that not everyone can or wants to install. The chat on the login page says "no employee was found", for many things you have to go to the bank, despite repeated objections, letters are sent by post, including advertising, the online banking website also contains tons of advertising, there are several Bugs in online banking that haven't been fixed for years, and so on, an endless list. I now use the "Tomorrow" bank, which invests in environmentally friendly companies, has much better service, online banking that actually works and a few other features. You can't get interest anywhere these days anyway.
