::I was here two weeks ago. I wanted to return my new bank card. This doesn't work in my "old" TAN generator. The nice employee explained to me that after the merger the "new" bank cards would have a larger chip. This chip does not work in the "old" TAN devices. But I could buy a new one. How come? Why should I throw away a device that still works (also with regard to sustainability) and “buy” a new one? This device should cost around 24.00 euros. Another employee came along and said that something had actually gone wrong. If I'm so dissatisfied, I should speak to my bank advisor. Unfortunately he was ill at the time. The employee took down my cell phone number and said my colleague would get in touch next week. Even if the colleague is still sick (which I don't know), a representative could have contacted me. Well, it's a shame actually. I have always been very satisfied, but since there is neither a branch nor an ATM in our town, things have deteriorated a lot. I'm wondering whether I should switch to an online bank. I don't have anyone to contact there either, I have to drive somewhere to hand over money anyway and there's no account management fee. Actually more advantages. I'm curious to see if anyone from Volksbank will get in touch.

Even though a lot of things now happen online, I still value personal contact. Even if you have problems with the banking program, you can always reach someone who can help quickly and competently. No call center, no waiting queue, just real friendly people, that cannot be replaced!
