We would always come here to give birth. The care provided by the midwives is unique; we always felt comfortable. The family rooms are very spacious and the care after the birth was also great.

I would give birth here again at any time!! After the first birth ended in a cesarean section, the desire for a spontaneous birth of my second child was very great. I was supported so incredibly well and sensitively during the birth. My wishes were always taken into account. All the midwives in the delivery room were just great, reassuring and motivating. Always exactly what I needed at that moment. Everyone on the ward was also very helpful and nice. Thanks!!

Had to bring my wife into the accident and emergency unit this morning after taking a nasty fall. A member of staff kind lady that takes the temperature at the entrance directed me to the accident and emergency unit where I was assisted by Siyanda at the help desk who kindly instructed me on what to do next as it was my first time ever coming here. I was instructed by Siyanda to wait in the car while my wife was being screened and seen to by the staff. Based on what I was told the staff was very professional a nice throughout the process. She was given something for pain, had x-rays done and everything. Siyanda also kept me updated with what was happening while I was waiting which I thought was very nice of him. After the everything was done she was wheeled back to the car and I was given a ticket for parking (pleasant surprise) so I didn't pay for parking. Needless to say I had an overall very pleasant experience at this hospital and my wife was happy with the service she received. Thank you to everyone who was part of the process in assisting my wife this morning and keep up the amazing work.

Whatever was written below is now, sort of, obsolete. A few months ago a very nice German lady read my "cry" for help and she responded. Even if she did not by herself found the answer, she got me in contact with a very nice German gentleman. That gentleman, an archivist, put a lot of effort in. Firstly it was to try to see what information there was about my stay in that hospital in Bensberg. Unfortunately, the Maria Hilf Hospital in Bensberg was closed down in the 1950's. Also it was the procedure of the hospital to destroy their documentation after 30 years. The result for me was that no details of my stay was available any more. After that he contacted many institutions and organisations to try to find out if anything was available about my "forced holiday" in Germany. But that also failed, no records were found. Not really a great surprise. Whatever would have been recorded, was done by writing or typing on old fashioned typewriters. Knowing from experience by having done searches, old written paperwork and typed records are not always easy to be read. A name could easily have been bastardized and not relate to what one searches for. I hereby thank everybody who did try. But I still am not really satisfied about not having received an answer from either the Maria Hilf Krankenhaus and/or the Vinzenz Pallotti Hospital. I did try from August 1945 by mail to the Maria Hilf Krankenhaus, never ever received an acknowledgement. When internet and email came available, I contacted the Vinzenz Pallotti Hospital. At least they could have been so polite and answer me with just one sentence: "Sorry, we do not have any data from your stay in the Maria Hilf Krankenhaus" Thanks. Chris ======================================================== I was a patient in this hospital from mid April to the end of May 1945! I was suffering a very serious illness. After a lot of tears and a lot of begging, they did admit me and another equally serious sick person in the hospital. We were looked after by the nuns and 1 nurse called Anna. After having been in a coma for about a week I found myself under the bed. I was placed there because of artillery fire and grenades exploding all around the hospital. The window behind my bed was blown in and had landed on my bed. I have contacted this hospital on many occasions but they do NOT seem to be interested to answer me. All I want to do is find some more details about my stay there. I know I did get the last rites, the "Viaticum" there and then in that room. Anyone interested to enlighten me? Just respond here and I will come back now and then to look. Or you can find me on the web. Just search for me under my name. Chris Sengers PS. The name of the hospital was Krankenhaus Maria Hilf Bensberg
