::At the beginning of the month I had kidney surgery by Professor Merseburger. I felt in good hands and well looked after the whole time. Starting with admission, through the operation to inpatient aftercare. I would like to thank the entire urology team for taking such good care of me. Thanks to the care, I was able to leave the clinic 5 days after the operation. I can warmly recommend the team around Professor Merseburger.

::Based on the recommendation of my urologist from Bad Oeynhausen, I went to the Lübeck University Hospital with the kidney tumor in particular. When I arrived at the UKSH, I immediately felt safe and well looked after and in good hands. The Da Vinci operation went well and I was able to leave the clinic after 6 days. Post-operatively, I was very well informed in the urological ward and received very good nursing and medical care. Many thanks to the urological nursing and medical team. ::It's a shame that they didn't even tell you who was operating on you. There was no adherence to agreements and I didn't see a doctor all day. I finally released myself that evening.

::So far everything is good. It was a shame that someone unknown operated on me, even though the doctor who initially spoke to me said he would operate on me if I wanted it and I was also told at the urology reception that this was the doctor I was the only one I had ever met and was registered as a surgeon for me. I was transferred to a ward other than urology after the operation; because I think it was full. The disadvantage was that no one came to see me until the next day, so I had to wait 24 hours to hear how the operation went. I felt a bit “left alone” by the doctors there. The nurses were great and of course you also have to keep in mind that there was generally a lot going on and the ward might have been overloaded. From my perspective, I had hoped that these 2 things would have turned out differently.

::Had to check into urology for a week. After the operation, the care on the ward was great. Many thanks to the nurses and carers from ward 413. They were always on hand and always helpful. The food is very tasty and sufficient, optionally fresh rolls, a lot of choice for lunch and fresh, delicious bread in the evening. I'm glad I chose the UKSH.
