Absolutely terrible. Unfriendly, condescending and lacking empathy. As concerned parents, we were treated very badly here. They simply hung up because of a “more important, additional” call.

Very short waiting time until an incredibly nice and sensitive lady picked up. I was unsure because my daughter had just turned one and the limits for this type of poison are much higher for those under one year old, so she was basically at the limit. She took away my fears, explained carefully and also explained that my first aid measures were exactly right. Thank you!

I called about swallowed soap. It was clear to me that this wasn't extremely dangerous, but I still wanted to be on the safe side. I got through immediately. Despite this "standard incident", the lady on the phone was very sensitive, calmed me down, told me what I could do to bind the soap and what to do if foamy vomiting occurred. Thank you for the competent help!

I was put on hold for the first few calls. It's unpleasant, but it was the weekend and there was always a clear message that in urgent emergencies the regular emergency number should be contacted. Writing this as a father because I read reviews below that it was a matter of life and death for children. I can imagine the shock, but I'm afraid I would have preferred to call the ambulance and get first aid tips from the emergency number. In my case it was about the long-term consequences of a weever sting. Since this is certainly not a common case in Munich, I was glad that this emergency number exists. After briefly describing my problem, I was put through to a doctor. She then sought advice from colleagues during the phone call. The conversations were all very helpful and friendly. I felt very well advised. We stayed so that I go to the hospital on Monday for the follow-up examinations. One star deducted because I called again on Monday and asked whether toxicology could take over the treatment. Unfortunately that didn't work. At the hospital where I went, my impression was confirmed that the doctors had neither experience with such cases nor sought expert advice on what to do in such cases. On the contrary, no one listens carefully to what the patient is saying, nor do I have the impression that the doctors turn to other sources for information. That's why I called again today. I happened to have the same doctor as on Saturday. She remembered me and gave really good and friendly advice - as far as it was possible over the phone and made sense. Unfortunately I didn't remember the name and I hope she reads this. Thank you very much and keep it up!

My 2 year old daughter ate a 3/4 tube of children's toothpaste. About 3 hours later she vomited twice. Our pediatrician’s assistant asked us to call poison control. The lady's statement here: "It couldn't be the consequences of toothpaste consumption. Otherwise she would have vomited straight away. Our daughter definitely has a stomach/intestinal infection." What nonsense... She vomited again in the afternoon and had foul-smelling diarrhea all day. Even on the Internet you can find more qualified reports than this statement. One of our pediatrician's assistants then called the emergency number in Freiburg and received the answer that it must be fluoride poisoning. We should give her milk because it binds the fluoride. The lady here was not only unqualified, but also extremely annoyed. She didn't even ask about the toothpaste.
