  Antigo cárcere dos estudantes da Universidade de Heidelberg. O espaço interior mostra os quartos com os inúmeros grafitis deixados pelos estudantes que lá estiveram detidos na sequência de desacatos ou pequenos delitos. No mínimo, pitoresco!

  Un pequeño lugar muy curioso, lleno de historia, distinto. La universidad más antigua y prestigiosa de Alemania también tiene su lugar para los estudiantes y sus costumbres. Es la primera vez que he visto una "cárcel para estudiantes". Desde el siglo XVI los ciudadanos se quejaban de las gamberradas de los estudiantes. La universidad creó un medio de retener entre 3 días y 4 semanas a los estudiantes con mal comportamiento. Podían asistir a clase, pero tenian que comer y dormir en la "cárcel". Para todo estudiante de Heidelberg llegó a ser un honor el haber estado al menos una vez en la cárcel. Y cuando lo hacían, dejaban pintadas y dibujos en las paredes. Las más visibles que han perdurado son las de finales del siglo XIX. La cárcel de estudiantes se cerró en 1914

  Reason for 2 stars: 1) The lady at the ticket counter was pretty rude. Also she charged me 3 Euros instead of 2 (I am not so sure what the right ticket price is. There was a Euro 2 printed somewhere there, just couldn't be sure as it was in German). 2) There is not much info available in English. Maybe some students could act as docents here to help the rest of the world. Now that the whining is over, some Pros- 1) Looks cool. You can get a few good clicks here. 2) I could see some of folks who understood the language, laugh/get amused by the work done on the walls and ceilings. So, I guess at least some of the stuff is funny. Now I don't really know how the student's life was while they were there, I would read about it online. If you know the language and if you are in the area (old city) and have about an hour to kill, you can go there. If not, just look at the pics online, well unless you are like me- 'must have photos that I clicked'.

  Der Studentenknast der Heidelberger Universität. Schon interessant wer da so im Laufe der Zeit eingesessen ist. Strafen zwischen 24 Stunden und 4 Wochen. Zunächst nur bei Wasser und Brot. Wer dann das Geld hatte dürfte sich Bier und Essen bringen lassen. Der Karzer ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Der Eintritt umschließt auch einen Besuch der Alten Aula der Heidelberger Universität.
