::Stay away from this bank, generally Sparkasse at all. I’ve yet not explored more bank, but I will soon. This is not a real-time bank, your online bank will also not show you real-time actual possession of money, because you have to calculate it yourself. Yet they take monthly fees for even having a bank. Their app is also terrible.

::Today I called the Sparkasse Nürnberg BeratungsCenter to inform myself on how to execute a bank operation. Sadly, I couldn't do so via a phone call because unfortunately my German is not good enough to manage this type of operations. With my broken German I politely asked the lady on the phone whether she would speak English. She declined. Again, with my broken German, I asked if there would be any alternatives (colleagues that speak English or a telephone line dedicated to English speakers) Again, declined. The only answers I got from her were 'Nein, nur Deutsch' 'Nein, kein Englisch' While I understand that the effort should come from me speaking the local language (which I tried), I do not understand that in today's multicultural society a person in customer service is not able to offer alternatives to a customer who is struggling plus HOW she reacted to my struggle noted a high degree of lack of empathy. Luckily, I got the help I needed (in English, thanks :)) via email through a very nice bank agent.

::they solved my issue and clarified all my questions. :) Don't get me wrong, that is the minimum a normal company should do. But in Franconia you need low standards. If the company replies and do their job, it is already 5 starts for me :)

::My sister in law has an account there. Due to their mistake, they "forgot" to send a paper that needed to be signed, and now she has to wait for the paper for who knows how long again ( We asked them to send it twice over phone and they said they will. They did not. We also wrote two emails that did not get answered). She has two little kids who need to eat, and her money is stuck on the account. The workers were friendly and tried to do their job to the best of their abilities, and I wish them all the best (Branch in Nürnberg) but they are unable to help because of incompetence of whoever handles online/phone related stuff. Just pick any other bank and you will be better off
