::We stayed long term (approx 60 days) at Hotel Oranien during our search for permanent housing after a change of station. We had several options, but chose Oranien due to its proximity to both the market area of Wiesbaden and to work. We would not have our car for some time after arriving in Germany, so easy access to both work and shopping were near the top of our list. This location is very hard to beat. We were within 5 mins walk from grocers, dozens of restaurants and any shopping we could need. Also, it's right at the edge of the residential area, so noise at night was not an issue very often (any city will have the occasional ambulance or loud car). Before even arriving, Oranien staff (particularly Nicole) were very helpful and accommodating. We had packages delivered before arrival and after departure and the staff handled them with professional courtesy. We had a couple of small issues come up during our stay and they were quickly handled by either the front desk staff or maintenance. We always felt welcome and appreciated. The service is really the hallmark of Oranien, and we hope future hotels in Germany live up to our expectations. Our "room" was an actual 1 bedroom apartment, fully furnished with kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer, bedroom, living room. There was a TV in both the living room and bedroom. I imagine they had cable, but we never turned them on. Internet (wired and wireless) were in the room and I had no trouble setting up a VPN. All outlets are 240v (German standard), so be prepared with chargers and such. The kitchen had a sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, along with coffee maker, toaster, water kettle, and waffle maker. All utensils and pans needed were present. There was limited cabinet and counter space, but it was never an issue. Bathroom included shower and tub. The bedroom included a king (or whatever "Euro size" is equivalent), storage cubes, large wardrobe, chair, ottoman, TV and I think a DVD or blu-ray player. The hotel has a restaurant which in our opinion is considerably underrated. The food is always excellent and the service is "German attentive", meaning they'll generally leave you alone but are there whenever you want something. (As an American, we would expect a server to visit more often and make inquiries, but that is not typical in Germany. You're going to need to call the server over if you want something after the meal arrives. I think this is an effort to let you eat and converse in peace, which is pretty cool.) If this is your first German restaurant, just expect to be a little more proactive. They come immediately with a wave or nod and are happy to provide service. Our meals were very good. We have discovered that in Germany, meals are often taken more seriously than in America. This translates to food that has been prepared with actual effort and style. If you order a cheeseburger, not only is the cheeseburger excellent, so are the fries and salad. It's hard to explain how much a perfectly made fry (pommes) makes a humble meal so much better, but it does. Same with the burger, the ingredients are all fresh and could stand alone as excellent. Great burger, fresh bun (bakeries are on every corner, so bread is always fresh), produce, nice cheese. They're small things, but translate to an excellent meal that shames the thrown together with minimal effort of many stateside restaurants. And that's just the cheeseburger. The effort resonates even more with the steak or fish. We tried almost everything on the menu, and all were fantastic. The deserts were also excellent. We were happy to eat there anytime we were too tired to walk or whenever we wanted to avoid the crowds in the market. Also, on our first night after several days of little to no sleep, we met kindness and help at the front desk, with management, and in the restaurant. It's an immediate relief to know that you're stay is not going to be a problem after virtually everything else on the trip was. We had an excellent stay, and recommend Hotel Oranien to anyone who comes to Wiesbaden.

::We stayed in Wiesbaden Germany for a night on our way back to Frankfurt. Picked this hotel off of Priceline. But actually got a better rate using the Oranien hotel web site to do our booking. It’s a wonderful property. Large rooms. Super clean. Well appointed amenities (including hair dryers, coffee in the room and bathroom products). The interior has all the old world charm you could ask for, and the staff were super friendly and helpful providing local directions and places of interest to see. The hotel is located directly adjacent to the Wiesbaden city center so everything is a short 5 minute walk. Perfect for getting around on foot. There is an on site car park that allows you to go in and out at your leisure - for only 14 euros a day. We loved this amenity, as we had a car and were able to drive to Mainz and the Rhine River valley without worrying about parking when we got back. We loved the hotel and found it to be a great value. Wish we had a few more nights there. Highly recommend

::This Hotel is the best place to stay in Wiesbaden and my favorite hotel. I feel like I am family every time I arrive, and the staff and owners are the most wonderful people. The rooms are fantastic, clean, well furnished l, and comfortable. The hotel location is a very short walking distance to the downtown area. The hotel breakfast is great, many selections, and delicious choices. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Oranien, which is why I have stayed there at least a dozen times

::A little dated but a nice hotel. Good location, super close to city center. We booked a classic double. Room was spacious. Curtains are not fully lightproof. AC worked fine. Not all classic rooms are featured with AC, better ask for it, if it is important to you. Information on common booking-websites is not fully correct in this regard. Gym is quite small but the equipment of very good quality. (Public) Parking spot available. Reception gave us even a free ticket.

::The staff here are very friendly and helpful, taking care of all your needs. In case you're still learning German like me, the front desk and restaurant staff all speak excellent English. They accommodated our family with our cat very nicely for more than a month that we stayed here. There's also a daily breakfast spread that's a mixture of German and American style breakfasts. The location of the hotel is perfect, situated within 5 minutes walking of the main pedestrian street downtown, which is great to explore if you're new to town. But don't pass up the hotel restaurant! It has an excellent variety of local cuisine and wines to offer, with great prices for the quality of dining you experience. I wish I could rate this team at more than five stars!
