::We checked out in the morning and left our bags with the front desk for the day as our flight out wasn’t until the evening. We left two suitcases and backpacks with Passports, cash, laptops in them expecting them to be stored in a back room somewhere out of sight. After coming back from a day of sightseeing we were completely shocked to see our bags were in the place we left them, in front of the counter mere metres from the front door accessible to anyone. “Our store room was full” that’s fine, tell me that in the morning when I dropped them off and I would have maybe taken some valuables out or reconsidered the offer,you’re a Mercure, not an Ibis Budget, no where near the level of customer service or duty of care we would expect from a Mercure. Manager (male) didn’t care, laughed us off. Also woken to the sound of tradesmen working on rooms at 07:30 in the morning. I get it, hotels get renovated all the time, that’s fine, but how hard would have been to mention at check in “oh by the way we have tradesmen working on some of the rooms on your floor” such a small detail would have improved our stay tremendously. Communication was the main issue with our stay. As a non-German speaking person in Germany I get that I’m lucky if I can be served by someone fluent in English and it would be arrogant to expect so. It was clear at the Mercure that some of the staff had a much better understanding of English than others. There’s nothing worse than have someone listen to you’re problem and just nod their head, smile and say “yes sir yes” particularly when there’s a colleague next to you who has a much better understanding of English, would much prefer to wait and have someone listen to me who can understand me when the options available which it was. Such small problems which could have easily been fixed. Complimentary drinks after we raised the issue were appreciated but still don’t mend the trust. Attached photo is where the staff left our bags, halfway between the front door and the front desk for a good 6 hours.

::Stayed here many times, only time I've had an issue is when it was busy staying on the top floor. I'm 6 foot and really struggled for head room. Other rooms have just been refurbished and are to a very good standard.

::Katastrophaler Service musste mehrmals nach der Rechnung fragen und habe sie dann nur unprofessionell zusammengebaut erhalten und nicht wie gewünscht mit NUR der Firmenadresse. Aber am schlimmsten sind die Duschen in dem Hotel hier kommt so wenig Wasser raus dass eine vernünftige Säuberung einfach nicht möglich ist. Wir werden das letzte Mal in diesem Hotel gewesen sein. Schade denn die Lage ist sehr gut.

::Camera spaziosa, accogliente e con bagno. Presente tutto il necessario dai saponi agli asciugamani. Servizio ottimo e buona pulizia. L'illuminazione interna della camera lascia un po a desiderare. Il servizio di colazione è completo e variegato. Vicinanza ai servizi di trasporto pubblico e ben collegata alle varie linee.

::Loved it. Best place to stay. Gold member but did. Or get upgraded. Nevertheless cannot complain. They did a big favor for us when we had called and changed the reservation. Staff kind enough to reimburse one night charge. Warm welcome. Breakfast was very good. On the contrary bathroom is small but O well can’t do much. Better then some other novotels around Germany.
