::The hotel gave basically everything it needed to - it was a short distance from the central station and other amenities; the breakfast was surprisingly good quality, well-stocked, fresh, clean; the room was clean as well, bed surprisingly comfortable for how basic it was and plenty of power points. All of the front of house staff were extremely personable and efficient (for example, we had extra pillows in a flash when we asked for them). We didn’t spend much time at the hotel as we were out and about, visiting attractions and so on. If you plan on doing the same or you will be using it as a place to stay between business meetings, it is perfect. If you expect to spend a lot of time at the hotel and want some fancy extras, a grand room and an aesthetic dining hall, then this isn’t the hotel for you. But if you need somewhere safe, secure, warm and dry to recharge and refuel before getting out and enjoying Hamburg, this is the place for you. The only thing that stopped me from being extremely satisfied is that there were no fans available. I realise this is likely an odd request, especially in winter, but I attempted to make this way ahead of time and unfortunately it was unfulfilled by arrival. When I asked a receptionist about this, apparently they had none, which again was disappointing as I had tried to get this organised weeks in advance. Other than that, couldn’t have faulted it I don’t think!

::Hotel is about 7-10 minutes walk from the station in a quiet location. Rooms are warm and comfortable and the window opens (love a blast of fresh air). Reception staff were really friendly and check in was quick.

::Very good location, very central. However, the comfort misses a lot of points - the bed, the size of the room, the pillows… - and, in addition, only one elevator for the whole hotel and services. Prepare to wait long time to take it.

::We had such a nice stay in this hotel - and would like to stay there again :-)! The breakfast buffet is very nice with all you need, the room was nice and clean and it only takes about 5 minutes to reach the main train station and about 7-10 minutes to go to the main shopping area. We will be back :-)!

::Room - a classic Ibis room, not big, not small, very clean and quiet! Location - 30 steps from the lake, 6 min walk from the Hamburg Central Train Station and 12 minutes walk from the market. Breakfast - very good breakfast ( fresh baguettes and croissants, omelette, bacon, honey, Nutella, a variety of cheese and vegetables, smoked prosciutto and a corner to make your own waffle..!!!) and best value for money 15€ per person! Reception - extremely helpful and kind English-speaking staff, they advise us about everything we need, they issue an invoice for our accommodation and when we needed an extra night due to an incident in the Hamburg airport, they gave us a discount before asking! Highly recommended!
