::One of my biggest mistakes was opening an account there. The bank appears on the market as if it were a direct bank, but unfortunately neither the managers nor the employees have any idea what a direct bank means. I worked in customer service at ING DiBa AG for years and therefore know at least something about direct banking. The account opening still worked very well and quickly. Less than 7 days after the opening, the documents were on site by post. The authentication (online) was also very good and worked perfectly. But then the trouble with the “direct bank” started. Setting up a power of attorney for my partner was a disaster and it didn't work until the termination date. Twice they didn't find my documents even though I had sent them by priority and therefore had proof of delivery. All pointless costs. I received a large amount from the sale of an apartment. Unfortunately the buyer did not specify the intended use. The bank blocked the account due to money laundering law. The bank offered to send the notarial purchase agreement, which the bank refused. They wanted to receive an answer from the executing bank, until then the account would remain blocked. After about 8 days, mail came from UniCredit Bank and you wouldn't believe it, now they want to receive the purchase contract for approval. I really felt ripped off again by this “direct bank” It is also possible to change the daily limit online at every bank. At UniCredit Bank only with a new online authentication. It's no fun to spend hours in this waiting loop every day because they can't manage to increase the limit for several days if the amount of money in the account is 5 figures. Everything costs time and nerves and, as already mentioned, the employees definitely have no idea about banking transactions. This bank may be able to survive on the market as a branch bank, but definitely not as a direct bank. UniCredit's luck may just be the drastic increase in fees at Germany's largest direct bank. The upper hammer comes now: The account was canceled by me on July 31, 2022. As of August 1st, 2022, I will no longer be able to log in to banking. On August 12, 2022, the bank sent me an email with the following text: "Dear Customer, Dear Customer, We would like to inform you that a new document(s) are waiting for you in your HVB Online Banking mailbox. Best regards Your HypoVereinsbank ***PLEASE NOTE*** This is an automatically sent message. Please do not reply to this letter as the address is only set up to send emails. Unicredit Bank AG | Arabellastrasse 12 | 81925 Munich" Yes, dear UniCredit Bank, how should I access this document? So you aren't even able to handle my canceled account properly. Anyone who opens an account here needs a lot of time and has to put up with a lot. For my part, I'm gone and will definitely not switch to this bank again.

::The HVB banking zone is open 24/7 and you can do all your banking there. The room is well maintained and clean.

::Dear Hypo, how can it be that if you are no longer a customer or are not yet a customer, you have no opportunity to clarify a quick question over the phone? No matter where you call, the AI always answers and asks for a 10-digit service PIN. Which of course you don't have as a non-customer. Today, after 3 hours, I gave up looking for any other option than driving 10km to a branch because of a question that was answered within 3 minutes. You can't be contacted via email either. The contact form can only be used if you do online banking with you. You can't be serious, can you? 100 years ago you had to take a carriage to the bank for every little thing because there was no telephone or email. Congratulations, you're back there despite modern AI.

::Among other things, I have a savings account with HVB which I have closed. In order to transfer my credit, a document with my signature was required, as well as a last bank statement. I sent both by post. After the cancellation period had expired, the credit was not credited to my reference account, I didn't know why. After a phone call, I was told that the original bank statement was required; I had not been informed of this before. It's just a matter of delaying the payment, because HVB is very, very low when it comes to credit interest rates. I can therefore not give good testimony for this banking behavior. It's a shame no recommendation from me.

::A bank that offers a service only in german and makes no effort to offer any other languages to accommodate clients and charges huge fees for basic services. If that sound attractive to you, that is the bank for you.
