::Written by a very disappointed Scotsman: If it was possible to give less than one ☆, then I would have given a 0.0 We booked the Celtic themed evening in January 2020 as an Anniversary present for my brother and sister in-law. Hotel is very nice, but the evening itself was catastrophic. We were greeted in Italian as we came in, by the Greek waiter. First aperitif of honey schnaps (Celtic?) was poured whilst listening to a Swedish musician playing his assortment of American banjos. The complete menu of Traditional Scottish culinary delights: Starter - Cullen Skink. Main Course - Lamb Stew with dumplings followed by my absolute favourite dessert - Cranachan......was not served! Instead...the most disturbing soup consisting of milk laced with corn.....followed by raw steak with vegetables...and a cheesecake that was older than the so called hotel ghost. The only thing that was Celtic about this evening.....was me ;o). After a bit of an uproar from the guests we received 20€ back from > 60€ paid per head. All in all a terrible experience. No apologies and no contact possible to the management. I was and still am 💯 amazed and disgusted. Never again.

::A great hotel castle, the restaurant here is amazing. Great breakfast as well.

::A beautiful old place tucked away in the countryside. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The restaurant provides excellent food in the morning and evening. The staff speak excellent English which far surpassed my basic German language skills. Not an expensive place to stay and rich in history and culture.

::Went here for my birthday and can recommend for a special occasion. You need to be mobile as lots of corridors and stairs. Lovely pool, which I had to myself and the food and wine, although higher priced than other places we had visited was excellent. Room small with creaky floorboards and sink could do with being replaced but comfortable. WiFi was free.
