::We ate at the buffet with 20 people on Christmas Day. The staff was told several times that one in 20 people didn't eat - but they had to pay the entire price of €60! Even though it was agreed upon beforehand, the person who didn't eat a bite had to pay in full. This goodwill would have been expected. In addition, the food lacked sauces, was partly cold and was refilled too slowly. A pity!

::Our company is a full work from home one, with people scattered all across the globe. This means getting together occasionally is very important, and the last few years (not counting The Event) we have done this at Hotel Schloß Gehrden. Our week long social-and-work meetings have been a consistently excellent experience, and the only thing I would suggest people consider is access to the venue requiring either a taxi from the local train station, or a car. Should I make a comment on the room facilities, I would have to mention there is no air conditioning, which is a bit of a problem in the height of summer when the spicy sky ball is particularly angry (which I mention because it was particularly hot on our most recent visit). The rest of the room facilities, though, are stellar: Comfortable beds, sofas, work stations if you need them, and a bath room that would make most people envious. The entire hotel is also old, but accessibility has been taken in mind during its rework. While there are steps in many places, if there is a step, there is also a way to get there without using that step. As an example, the restaurant has a set of steps in the middle, but one of the two elevators in the hotel is situated immediately next to this, allowing access for anybody who needs step free access. Speaking of the restaurant, this is consistently a highlight of an already excellent trip. It is worth mentioning that not only is this a great place to eat while you're in the hotel, and their variety is both large and the food skillfully produced for those at the hotel, it is telling to me that people come there just for the restaurant, without staying there. All in all, highly recommend this hotel for events like ours. I've attached a few pictures of the food there, and as to location photos, the official ones are not embellished- it really looks like that, and feels like you would expect.
