The best thing about the place is the food, the restaurant was great! And the service friendly at all times. We were not so impressed by the room, it was very hot and took us a while to get to sleep. The beds were a little uncomfortable and the rooms a little dated. Stay for the food though!

We spent a weekend in the castle and we used the occasion to visit this beautiful corner of Germany. The castle is an historical building with a special appeal surrounded by grapes and a decadent garden. The service is friendly and welcoming. We had a 5 courses dinner and the food was well prepared with a touch of fusion that I really appreciated. Breakfast was also continental buffet and rich with German products. The only lower note was the room: we had a suite at the last floor (sans souvi suite)of the tower with a special floor planning. The bed was located at the first floor and through a steep and noisy stair you could access the bathroom. This was a nightmare! The stairs, being in front of the bed, make a terrible noise if you decide to use the toilet in the middle of the night, waking up who is sleeping, plus due to the fact that you do not see and the stair is really dangerous is absolutely necessary to switch on the light. This made the access at the bathroom too much difficult and I found the experience in the night absolutely scary. In addition the limited space between the stiars and roof made me crash my head at least a couple of times. The room was definetely a no go!

Beautiful manor hotel. Very large and spacious rooms. We got a room on the second floor and had a lot of luggage so was a bit of a pain. Apart from that it's a beautiful property. I recommend eating at the winery near by - anselmann.
