  My move to Baumholder was tuff on one of my children. My boy had a tremendous culture shock and wouldn't eat. We tried for weeks for him to feel comfortable with the new foods and flavors and then we stumbled upon the Zum Stern. He asked for chicken nuggets so we told him that the schnitzel was a large chicken nugget. He ate it and loved it, he also loved the salad and specially their home salad dressing. That was 7 years ago. When he thinks of Germany he thinks Zum stern. After that night he absolutely loved and embarrassed the German cuisine. We miss you guys at the Zum Stern!

  Great location with central walking throughout town. Amazing restaurant to go along with an amazing stay at the hotel

  This small cute little restaurant is great! Close to base and the food was delicious! The staff was friendly and the food had reasonable prices. The table setting was cute as well, differently different if you’re coming from another culture. I will definitely be coming back. The food took a little long, but only because it was a large group and they cook fresh food which is a PLUS! The wait was worth. In the pictures are the 4 piece baguette and the onion soup. The onion soup was to die for! Looking forward to going back!

  I enjoyed this place a lot. The staff is bilingual and their coffee is great. I got the jāgorschnitzel, which I recommend for your first authentic German meal. It was covered in a yummy gravy sauce with a side of mashed potatoes. Also just a walking distance from base.
