::Quite dissapointing. 1) The hotel was undergoing construction work (mid august 2020). So workmen could, and did, pass our window at any time during the day. There was no mention of this on the website, nor on booking.com (it would have made us choose a different hotel) 2) Our bad for expecting airconditioning in a fairly new 4 star hotel. We won't make this mistake again. We were there in the middle of a heatwave. The hotel had put up big fans in every room, so we had the choice between not being able to sleep from the heat, of from the noise of the fan. Leaving the windows open was no option, due to the gangways for the construction workers all around the building (anyone from the street could enter our third floor room), and the street noise. 3) Breakfast service was very poor. Due to Covid-19, they were obviously understaffed to be able to apply all of the necessary measures. - Our first morning, breakfast was served at the table. (this was explained when we checked in, and we had to make a choice beforehand) Most of the food/drinks we had chosen were brought, but they forgot the egg that was promised, and never returned to ask if there was something more we would like and if everything was ok. I really would have liked a second cup of tea, but we saw the staff running back and forth, leaving our corner unattended. Waving didn't help. I'm not blaming them, they were just way too busy with both attending to all of the other guests, and with the hygienic measures they have to apply now. - Our second morning, breakfast was served as a buffet. We were not informed of this, nor on the procedure we had to follow. (also no info on that at the entrance of the breakfast room, just the big 3: mask, clean hands, distance) When we (2 persons) arrived at the counter, we got appointed to a table for one (small table, set for one, with ONE chair). No space for two, as the 1,5 m distance to the surrounding tables could not be maintained. I was not planning to have breakfast, sitting on my partner's lap, so we kept waiting, and finally the hostess went to find us a suitable table. She was quite unwilling, like we were being difficult, which was unpleasant. Behind us was the table with the hot drinks and cups, so I went for a cup of hot water for my tea. I got a reprimand, as it was not allowed and we had to wait for the staff to do that. It would have been nice if we had gotten that info beforehand, I would have complied and stayed in my seat. 4) Due to the hygienic measures, the folder with all guests-info was removed from the room. I suggest that the hotel either provides a disposable folder for every new booking, or puts up this information in the public area's. Now we were kept in the dark on all of the do's and don'ts under Covid-19. This is the first hotel we ever checked out of, where we were not asked if everything was to our satisfaction. Sadly, the answer would have been no, sorry. There's room for improvement. The positive points are the large parking area (which is fairly cheap at 4 €/night), though it should be marked more clearly as the driveway is for a big venue behind the hotel, and you cannot see from the street that this driveway serves for the hotel parking too (we noticed later the sign is in a bush), and the location near the cosy harbour with all of it's restaurants and bars. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom has all comfort needed. Sabine & Jochem
