::Great stay at a typical German hotel, nicely integrated into the region. The dam is close, food and staff excellent. Had wild game and local schnapps. Must be really nice in the spring and summer. Will return.

::Sadly, we were not overly impressed with our recent (3 overnights) stay at Haus Delecke. All in all, the hotel and room itself were clean and tidy with a good bed and the room had clearly been recently renovated, in particular the bathroom. Disappointingly, though, on two occasions, chamber maids failed to clear away used water glasses which should not happen. The hotel itself has massive character and style BUT, its infrastructure is tired, and although it's made recent improvements, it will inevitably inherit comments as they struggle to keep up and fail to negate the complaints that will far outway the amount of improvements required to meet today’s standards: We stayed in room number 6 on the first floor that had a wooden door that when opening and closing, literally caused the whole wall to shake and would have woken the dead in terms of noise. We were constantly disturbed by similar doors on the same floor. Old style with very ill-fitting door frames. We had to ask our neighbour in room number 5 to talk quitely whilst she was on her phone beacuse we could hear every word of her side of the converstaion. She was surprised but quickly realised we were constructively and genuinely complaining. You should not be able to hear a conversation in the next room!! On two mornings we were wakened by a water drainpipe above our room which sounded like an express train running through the room at 0500 hours. These are all basic sound problems that the hotel will probably never resolve and it's where personnel and owners should be encouraged to stay in the rooms overnight themselves and appreciate just why customers will complain. The hotel is noisy. Personnel wise, it was also not great with some of the staff offering the impression that they would clearly rather be somewhere else. On one occasion at breakfast, we watched as a young lady simply swept the table crumbs on to the floor, which was all a bit strange to observe. Generally quite a pleasant stay but, putting all things in perspective, it’s difficult to see why the hotel has been allocated a 4 star rating. It is flattering to deceive, especially with the out-buildings and overgrown play areas which do not make a good impression. And why does a hotel that does not offer a Bar facility achieve a 4 star rating? In conclusion, we visited quite an expensive 3 Star hotel!

::Very nice place. Clean rooms. Everybody are friendly. It is true that hotel should be renovated.
