::We booked this hotel 6 months prior to our weekend stay (for the Lübeck Christmas market 8-10/12-23) With this idea in our head that our hotel room would be fine. Oh boy we were so wrong.. The first couple of hours, we heard a strange/creepy noise in our room, after finding out that is was the escalator. We were amazed by our room (booked 6 months prior) was right next to the escalator shaft... So I've attached a video of the sound, it was more muffled in the hotel room, but noticeable even when the television was on. Furthermore the restroom, had a bad odor we are assuming that it is from the sewage, imagine the smell.. And we went to check out, the receptionist was dismissive, and wasn't interested in our stay at the hotel. So if you need a hotel in Lübeck, choose wisely.

::It is serving Cold War chique decor, and the signs pointing to a spa & wellness just lead to a dilapidated floor that's under construction. If this is supposedly 4 stars in Lübeck, I'm worried about what other hotels in this city look like.

::The room was large and the bed was comfortable. It included a balcony with a cafe table so you could sit outside with a coffee or a beer. The room included a small fridge, a kettle and a safe. There were a couple of grocery stores very near by so you can stock up on refreshments, snacks or even supplies to make your own light breakfast or packed lunch. The only drawback was it was pretty far from the sites and downtown, about a 1/2 hour walk. But for 1.90€ you can jump on the bus which stops right outside the hotel.

::They claim to be "pet-friendly" but they did not accept us with our dogs and it was a very traumatic experience because we had been travelling all day and us and our dogs were very tired (especially my 12 year old golden retriever who barley can walk) and we checked beforehand if they allowed dogs and it said "pet friendly". When we came there, a women at the reception told us that we could enter with the dog, but then her boss came and kicked us out. He was very mean and told us that the dog could sleep outside in the car. Very cruel and bad place. I do not recommend. And they lie! Do not bring your dogs here!!

::Recommend to join the staff for a smoke, as you won't get service before they finished anyway. Room was ensembled with left over furniture from other rooms. When they can find a fridge and paintings for the empty hooks on the wall, it's almost complete.
