  This is a basic Bed and breakfast in a small town. We stopped here for one night driving to Berlin. We called in the evening to check availability and also to make sure they’re dog friendly. The lady who picked up the phone was lovely and had a very positive attitude. She even asked the chef to stay longer for us. We loved her attitude so much over the phone that we decided to stop here rather than other options in the area. The food is nothing to write home about. But her welcoming attitude made the evening pleasant. The room was clean, shower was ok, the sink drainage tap was blocked and impossible to remove so we ended up brushing and washing our hand in the shower. But overall the room quality is good enough for one night stay. All was fine until the next morning breakfast room, the lady who seems to be the manager there at the reception wasn’t exactly a character you would like to interact with before your morning coffee! I walked in and the first comment was that “have you been told that the breakfast is until 10am” I for one second thought I am there after 10am, it was 9:45... enough time to have a bite and to have a coffee but to be honest that unwelcoming comment put me off so much that I couldn’t wait to get out! It’s amazing how people’s attitudes can make or break a place!

  Friendly staff, nice location. Room was kind of noisy, unfortunately. Nice breakfast.

  It is a silent place in nature. The rooms are old fashioned but clean and nice. Breakfast is very good. I would visit this place again.

  I had a wonderful stay at Cafe am Stift over Christmas 2012. A very friendly place where nothing is too much trouble. Comfortable, clean and modern accommodation. I would have liked a wifi connection and that is the only reason I have marked down the service category. I will certainly stay here again in the future when I'm in the area.
