The Freiburg Münster gives a sense of how people in the past were moved to create art and architectural structures so that all could gather and learn about the forgiveness and healing found in Jesus Christ... God with us.

Note: Payment for entrance to the top of the spire/viewing area is right at the top so ensure you have enough change BEFORE you make the ascent. The staircases are narrow and large with no disabled access. Beautiful piece of Gothic architecture not destroyed during WW2. The local market operates daily except Sunday and houses stores for plants, flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as gifts.

Freiburg Münster (German: Freiburger Münster or Münster Unserer Lieben Frau) is the cathedral of Freiburg im Breisgau, southwest Germany. The last duke of Zähringen had started the building around 1200 in romanesque style. The construction continued in 1230 in Gothic style. The münster was partly built on the foundations of an original church that had been there from the beginning of Freiburg, in 1120.

Great cathedral, very strong facade that makes you understand you're going to see something that resisted centuries to get to you. That dark Gothic elements inside reinforce the idea and you just feel the vibes of a very old building filled with history and people prayers. Amazing buildings in the Munsterplatz too and I remember this place for a really peculiar biologic market going on that day. I ate some organic food from a caravan and that made my day. Art, history, design, people and good food... that's just perfect.

What should I say? It's a very big and very Gothic church with three organs, a huge tower (that would require at least one separate review), colourful windows and amazing portals. You could literarily fill books describing the Munster.
