::A beautiful hotel, no question about it. Unfortunately, the pictures in the website can be misleading when booking your room. When you've been traveling for 10 hours and don't get what you paid for, it can be quite unpleasant. The next day, the staff were happy to relocate us, which was much appreciated. If this had been the only issue, I would have left a four-star review. Unfortunately, and to our surprise, the next evening the hotel was hosting a Christmas party in the lobby, with a DJ mixing dance music until 1:00 am. We were of course unable to sleep until then. Now, my question to the hotel management: how on earth do you even consider hosting a party for almost 100 people in the hotel lobby with a DJ, while being AWARE that guests, who are only meters away, have paid for a quiet space to sleep in peace? If anything more than a matter of consideration and respect to guests, this should be common sense. I'm not one to leave bad reviews, the hotel was clean and nice, location was great and the hotel staff were very polite. However, having two bad experiences in three days leave me far from happy. I hope the hotel management takes this review seriously and takes action for future guests.

::We didn’t actually get to stay here due to an error in an external booking system we used. The city was covered in heavy snow and public transport were suspended/many people were like us looking for available rooms to stay the night. Due to a booking error, it was erroneously indicated that we were assigned a room here even though the hotel was fully booked. It might seem odd to say this, but this had to be one of the best possible options of a hotel to be “stuck” in. The hotel staff were impressively accommodating and went out of their way to help us get our refund, and even tried to contact another hotel for us. They also willingly stored our luggage for us as we rushed to find a place to stay. We ultimately found another place nearby to stay in, but remain very grateful for the help the staff at Excelsior by Geisel offered us. We hope to stay here when we return to Munich!

::Even the outside area looks bad because of the construction happening. We did not hear it inside our room. iWe been upgraded to Junior, it’s nice and bigger with a bath tub. Clean and modern bathroom. The only thing is that our room window is other windows that we could not open the curtain because of the lack of privacy and that makes our room darker. Not enough lights and no ceiling lights. The staff is friendly and helpful

::Very pleasant dinner, it does not appear simply as the restaurant of the hotel. Menu is restricted but interesting. I’ve opted for one of the selection of the day and tasted was delicious. Staff is very kind. Price medium-hight justified by service and quality of food. Atmosphere relaxed and pleasant.

::Room aircon is slightly loud. At level 5 there are some rooms that had 1 flight of stairs, beware. Room is big and spacious. Hot water is good. Room service is prompt and fast. Receptionist and bellboy are friendly. Allow early check in at 10am. Did not try the breakfast and dinner here.
