  Hello, I was in the Menterschwaige clinic for 12 weeks in 2019. I came to the clinic in a very bad condition and left the clinic that way. The clinic's treatment concept is definitely not suitable for everyone. Especially the very provocative and tense group therapy, the big Friday group, left me with a lot of fear and oppression. I still often have nightmares about the stay. For me it was absolutely the wrong decision, this clinic concept.

  I came to the clinic with fears and was discharged 3 months later with suicidal thoughts. I haven't slept 1 hour a night for 2 months and unfortunately I didn't get any help. It should have been recognized that I would have had to go to another clinic. Those were honestly the worst 3 months of my life.

  I was hospitalized there from 07/08-23 for almost 3 weeks for stabilization (depression). Recording was made possible at very short notice. The ambience of the clinic allows you to quickly relax. The staff (all professional groups) meet you at eye level. Empathy and clear words are also positive for the climate within the clinic. The therapies, group and individual therapies, gave me access to myself in a short time and led to stabilization. The therapy will continue on an outpatient basis, unfortunately in a different facility. It was my first inpatient experience in a psychiatric facility. If I had had such a positive image beforehand, I would have sought help much sooner. I also viewed the interaction with the other patients as a very positive experience. In short: many thanks to the entire team and keep it up. A connected outpatient day clinic would be nice.

  I know someone who killed himself while in Menterschwaige's care. That can happen with psychotic patients, of course, but in this case, they had changed the patient's medication without increasing monitoring, even though it is known that the medication in question can reinforce suicidal thoughts at first. I know about this from the deceased's mother, who, though herself a doctor and not prone to quick judgments, was brushed off fairly ruthlessly by the doctors who had treated, or failed to treat, her son. So no, I wouldn't recommend them.
