::Cozy and very clean room. The breakfast is great! Large selection of cheese, delicious rolls, fresh fruit salad, etc. Everything in organic quality.

::A great little Hotel Garni (= no meals other than breakfast). The rooms are simple but comfortable, and easily slept the three of us. Great shower! We had a fabulous view from our balcony on the lake. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of choices of local cheeses, breakfast rolls that were still warm, juice, fruit, eggs, yogurt, etc. It felt very homely, not like a hotel breakfast, more like when you stay with friends. There was also the offer to make yourself a sandwich to take away for your lunch; the children much liked that. The location is great, too, with a short walk up to the town or along to the gondola that takes you to the lake. I can very much recommend this hotel.

::My impression is mixed. We received a very friendly welcome from the man of the house, who also helped us with a question that arose. We were a little surprised that the “chalet” is simply the next house with - I think - 4 holiday apartments in it. The description on the website led us to believe that it would be a bit more out of the way and just a single unit. Well, our mistake or wrong assumption. We slept well so far, the furnishings and equipment are ok, and you can actually find all the kitchen utensils you need for self-catering. It would be nice if the operating instructions for the dishwasher and stove had been available somewhere, some of them gave us a puzzle, of course, you could have asked questions here too... In the end we were able to help ourselves. The apartment we had was very clean, and the garbage was swept every now and then. The location is great, numerous hiking trails lead past the property, it is not far to the town center and the castle and the mountain station of the cable car are also very close. The breakfast is really excellent! Huge selection of cheese, different rolls, the fruit salad was super delicious! There was a coffee machine with latte, espresso, etc. I deducted one star because of the owner. When filling out the MeineCard, we felt like we were being treated like stupid schoolchildren, and the answer to one of our questions came in a very condescending tone. One day she greeted us in a very friendly manner and asked how we slept. A day later she cleared the table next to us and didn't even respond to my good morning or glance at us. When checking out she was again very nice. Unfortunately, I can't deal with such erratic behavior and I find it inappropriate in the hospitality industry. All in all we had a nice stay. If I were to come to the Edersee again, I would probably check in there again because it simply performs better compared to other holiday apartments and you can also take advantage of the breakfast offer. Unfortunately, the region is expensive and when it comes to organic food, that was important to me, not whether any of the furniture was organic. If I'm staying for a shorter period of time, I'd rather look for a hotel. Finally, 2 suggestions for improvement, although the owners apparently don't read here anyway, or at least they don't respond to reviews... Anyway: 1. Carpet has had its day, sorry. It smelled pretty musty and accommodations in general are simply outdated. Should be renovated. 2. At breakfast the rule should be: whoever comes first... We had the impression that there are guests who have been coming here for years and they can just sit by the window at the larger tables. We sat at a mini table in the middle of the room the whole time. And 2 of the 4 tables by the window were unoccupied the whole time because the guests were apparently still on the fence. Yes, you could have asked. But we just don't like to open a barrel right then and there and then be considered the annoying guests for the rest of the vacation. We've already experienced everything, hence the suggestion for improvement at this point: Free choice of seating

::The hotel is the basis for a perfect time (with heavenly peace) at the Edersee. The friendly, attentive and individual service from all employees made us feel comfortable from the first minute. The location is perfect for starting hiking straight away and at the same time it is only a 3-minute walk to Waldeck "downtown". Your own sauna and wellness area invite you to linger. A highlight is the breakfast, which leaves nothing to be desired. Just the selection of cheese, bread rolls, spreads, jams... great. The included “my card plus” with over 100 free activities is also ideal. During our short stay we used public transport, the Waldecker Bergbahn and the Treetopwalk and didn't have to pay a cent more for it. The rooms are clean and the mattresses are comfortable. Not too soft & not too hard for us. The style of the rooms fits the region and is a bit outdated. But that was absolutely okay for us. To us, the hotel with all its advantages seems ideal for couples and families who enjoy nature, want to discover the diversity of the region and appreciate the amenities described. We'd love to come back.
