  Promises a lot, unfortunately delivers little. I have been receiving therapeutic treatment since my early childhood and have therefore already gotten to know a number of clinics. The experiences I had at UKM/MHS Emsdetten were really not great. It was planned that I would be admitted to hospital so that I could start the DBT treatment. The preliminary conversation and the recording itself were also completely fine. I was treated in advance by the clinic responsible for my city and, after a long search, I was finally given the correct medication. I was pretty stable for my standards. During the stay it quickly became clear that little emphasis was placed on crises, the patients were largely left to their own devices and when there was a need to talk, people were often made aware that they just had to "get through" it somehow. I understand that it's also about taking your own initiative, but especially when you're in such a strenuous process, it's important to give patients adequate support (in my opinion). In addition, over the course of the first two weeks, the ward doctor EVERYONE! stopped my medication. Wording: “You learn skills so you no longer need medication.” Really quickly I continued to reduce it and although I mentioned it again and again and noticed it in everyday life on the ward, I was completely ignored. When I wanted to end my stay after a lot of back and forth, I was put under a lot of pressure by the nursing staff. On Tuesday morning I mentioned my wish, but it wasn't accepted. The only thing the nursing staff said to me was: "You can't cancel today and not tomorrow/the day after. You wait until next week; after all, that's what you want "We don't want us to note on the discharge report that you went against medical advice and that you therefore have to bear the costs for this treatment yourself." For me, that was simply a sign that the beds were supposed to be occupied, because when I called my health insurance company, the lady on the phone told me that I could of course cancel at any time (even against medical advice), since it was It was also my voluntary decision to be admitted and the costs would of course still be covered. And lo and behold: after this phone call and a lot of pressure from my supervisor, I was discharged the next day and it was significantly destabilized, so that a crisis intervention had to take place in my home clinic with renewed medication and stabilization.

  I know 5 stars is a lot, but the UKM is worth it. After much hesitation, I decided to spend an inpatient stay here due to a severe depressive phase. It was the best decision I could have made. Take the courage and don't wait too long. Station 3 immediately welcomed me. Regardless of whether it was a nurse, therapist, kitchen worker, nursing staff or other staff: there was no one who didn't want to help you. The therapies are always hard, but above all - and I never thought this at first - the group therapy helps enormously. I was also very lucky with my fellow patients; we were a great team. Thank you all.

  I was a full inpatient here for eight weeks and am so glad that this therapy option exists. Of course it's just a signpost or a foundation on which you can continue to build, but after 6 years of illness, my time there was very good for me. If you consciously engage in therapy, you can achieve a lot. I can only speak for Station 3, but I felt very comfortable there and met some great new people. Thanks for that.

  I was there for 8 weeks in the spring and can't recommend the clinic even after a few months. Actually, the main thing there is to occupy beds. Anyone who does not fit into the therapy concept based purely on depth psychology and addresses this is often accused of being unwilling. The documents brought by my treating doctors and psychologists and their and my desired therapy goals were not discussed at all. It was only after weeks of intervention that my request to have my medication re-adjusted was granted. On the weekends the stations were very understaffed. Even the reference to a very unstable patient and my concerns that he could harm himself if there were no staff there was dismissed. Ultimately, the concept would be that patients would have to face their problems themselves. And this is how all criticism was dealt with. Just being lucky enough to be in a very good group of patients and to have had good conversations and support there helped me through a very difficult time. However, the clinic had little involvement in this. The outside area of ​​the clinic is rather unkempt. The garden benches and tables are pretty dilapidated. The food is ok and the technical staff is very friendly.
