FOREIGNER UNFRIENDLY. Seems to be a recurring issue on several forums about the Atomic Café... We were a mixed group of 9,went at 22.30 for the cocktail happy hour (always EMPTY until 23.30 unless there's a concert, which wasn't the case), and as soon as the bouncer heard us approaching and speaking in different languages, he said our group was "too big".Pathetic, even another bouncer came and asked him why he wasn't letting us in when we were "nicht betrunken" (sober) and "nicht gefährlich" (not dangerous)!!!! And another girl in the club came out and asked why we weren't allowed in when drunk people at Oktoberfest were even allowed in filthy, drunk and with their rucksacks and tents! He carried on with the "we're too many" nonsense. I said he did it because we were foreigners, and he didn't even answer. The place was EMPTY. We decided to wait there for half and hour and make sure he didn't let any group of more than 8 in. He apparently couldn't stand it and closed the door, which made people end up knocking to go in. Even more pathetic. I don't understand why they don't want the money of a group of 25-35 year olds wanting to spend it. Completely unacceptable and illegal by the way, to discriminate on the basis of nationality. And not only the bouncer, he probably did have orders from someone else not to let "large" groups of "foreigners" in. I've been there several times before but never going back.
