::We came here through the Jochen Schweizer portal for which I got a voucher from my employer. While the pictures in the the advertisement and on the web page look quite nice be careful: Make sure to get a room in the new part of the hotel. The old part has smelly carpets and an old-fashioned sixties interior. The new part is quite nice. Service is friendly. Food so far ok. I don’t really get why they are not transparent about this, why they are risking bad reviews. Have they run out of money caused by the pandemic after buying the Hotel Löwen next door for their sons?

::Extremely overpriced. The hotel rooms in the old part of the hotel are outdated and the staff is very formal. The food is good, but not exquisite. The spa is beautiful though and the restaurant and lounge areas are modern and beautiful as well. The outdated rooms are very small and dark and if you’re lucky enough to be on the kitchen side, the kitchen smells get into your room through the ventilation and you wake up to the smell of fried onions. In this little space a lot of furniture was placed, making the small space even more cramped. To top it off, it was just not clean. Big layers of dust everywhere. The hotel is situated on a fork in the busy main road, next to a railroad crossing. This makes a stay there very noisy (you can choose streetside or riverside, which basically means ‘do you want street noise or the railroad trains passing by your window every 15 minutes?’). So, no sleeping with your window open. We had the misfortune that a new kitchen ventilation system was being installed that week, which added construction noise into the mix. It would be a good three star hotel, but it is nowhere near a four star rating, let alone the high rates they charge for everything. Very disappointing.
