-Stay 2014- Initially it was said that I could only begin my trauma therapy under the follow-up supervision of my own outpatient therapist and was then invited, despite being repeatedly pointed out that I had not yet found one. The horrified looks at the time told me that no one there had listened to me. When everyone finally figured it out, I was "mercifully" allowed to take a two-week trauma trial course, which in retrospect was even more stressful than my situation at the time. So stressful that it still comes up today. The canteen in which we ate and the "ordering" of the menus was a disaster. Back then they couldn't take my food allergies into account. The therapists were very unfriendly, with the exception of one therapist in creative therapy. Back then, swearing was so strictly forbidden that after just one swear word, a whole tribunal was held for me in which I sat in front of a senior doctor and two employees who wrote down every word that was said, like in a court case, in order to make the rules of this house clear to me. Which, given my mental state at the time, I found to be very oppressive and a representation of power. Almost like a child's "reprimand". The hard beds were incredibly uncomfortable. It was just very poorly organized back then, I hope it has changed. It would be a shame for the patients if not.

⚠️NOT SUITABLE FOR VEGAN PEOPLE Place of healing encounters… For me it was a sickening encounter. The clinic does not offer any vegan alternatives other than bread, salad and margarine for breakfast and dinner. Only vegetarian and meat dishes are offered for lunch. I raised this issue immediately after admission and was assured that a solution would be found for me. However, no solution was found. I was able to get by for 3 weeks by purchasing food myself and occasionally eating side dishes. I often had hunger, headaches and gastrointestinal problems. I also couldn't concentrate on the treatments offered and my symptoms worsened. Despite numerous attempts to find a compromise internally, my suggested solutions were repeatedly rejected. The food is prepared separately for the other patients with intolerances in consultation, but for me it is a “voluntary decision,” according to the chef. The head doctor of the clinic, Ms. Dr. P. told me in a personal conversation that dietary decisions are left to the head chef of the house, that she has no influence on them and that this is the reality. I was also told several times that I could go to another clinic. My request for a written notice of the food situation was also rejected. I had no information about the fact that no vegan food was prepared in-house before the admission, either verbally or in writing. I have consulted my lawyer. He confirmed to me that there was a right to self-sufficiency. The daily rate for nutrition provided by the health insurance company should be paid to me if the clinic cannot provide the food proportionately. I decided against it and left the clinic. I wasn't feeling well and it was no longer acceptable for me to stay there any longer. “Self-determination is part of human beings…” The proud belief of Johanneswerk gGmbH probably does not apply to vegans. Or are we not human…? What I also found incomprehensible was that there was no WiFi for the patients in the clinic. Apart from a hall, there were no sports facilities either. You could choose either art or movement therapy. The art therapy was good. The individual and group therapies were ok, the nursing staff tried hard. After my research, I found that, apart from the nutritional problem described above, there are better facilities that offer better therapies. For these reasons, I would clearly not recommend the Rhein-Klinik in Bad Honnef.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE -April 2022- ROOMS: The double rooms have the character of a storage room. The photos posted by the owner deceive the current reality. Old, loveless chests of drawers, unsightly floor, color not nice either. Trauma ward with a two-bed room is also a questionable concept! BATHROOM: Shower works. The bathroom is cleaned well by housekeeping! BAD: you flood the bathroom when you shower and then have to dry the mirror, floor and toilet seat. What's also disgusting is that the toilet paper roll gets wet. There is no disinfectant dispenser or even hospital soap in the toilet. NOT OK! WATER DISPENSER: If you want drinking water, you should buy a cheap plastic bottle that costs the patient €5. Then you can walk down to the entrance if you want to fill the bottle, as - as is usual - there is not a simple water dispenser at every station. NOT OK! INTERNET: The Rhein Klinik is still stuck somewhere before the invention of WLAN. While the whole city is already using FREIFUNK and making it available to everyone, here we are still a long way from it. NOT OK! EAT: 1. The times at which we eat are really timed and simply not associated with rest. Early dinner in particular is inappropriate. 2. The portions vary from bad to ok. Sometimes you get so little that you have to take care of yourself. 3. Organic is advertised and the food often sounds fresh. That is definenitly not true. The rice tastes like cheap discount rice, the tomato sauce tends to be more of a tomato paste and water paste and you have to guess what is organic here. 4. The salad bar finally went into operation in April, and nothing was spared except the salad. Sometimes the choice is good. 5. Dessert = none. Fruit is often offered (kindly 1 part per patient), but desserts are generally few and far between. 6. If you want coffee and cake every now and then, FEED YOURSELF. There is a coffee machine that you can use (each drink €0.70) but it has the charm of a train station hall. 7. By the way, you can get seconds if a) there is something left over and b) you want rice or tomato sauce or something similar. WASHING: If you want to wash, you have to pay (€2.50). Each station has a washing day, everyone is allowed to wash FRI-SUN. Regulation ok - PRICE UNACCEPTABLE. Other specialist clinics do this better! The difference between a single room and a twin room is huge! Like on the Titanic. THERAPY: 1. NURSING STAFF are extremely hard working and always feel like they are there! Great praise. You can talk to someone at any time and ask for help. Not everyone has expertise, but there is definitely a nurse that is right for every patient. 2. THERAPISTS also try very hard, but unfortunately there are often involuntary changes on offer. It's understandable (vacation and illness) but it's less conducive to the process. But all in all, the therapists are great and try to support where they can. 3. GROUPS: The groups are usually well led and the therapists are open to other approaches! 4. There are also SPECIAL GROUPS (movement or painting). I personally have to admit that my chosen group was/is rather ridiculous. You can get a lot out of painting groups and also gain some other access, but the management of such groups must be carried out professionally. However, my personal impression is correspondingly negative. I've seen much better groups. The Rhein Klinik may have to think again about which concept could work better here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE

I can only recommend the Rheinklinik. I was treated for 10 weeks in 2019 and was able to get my anxiety under control with the help of the entire team. Therapy helped me find myself again and became a new person. The team is really empathetic and always there for you. The fellow patients are also just great, you grow together like a family on the ward. I always like to think back on that time and have gained so much from the therapy. Thanks to the entire Rheinklinik team for continuing Anna )))

Very good trauma department where a lot of time is taken despite the amount of work. The food in the Rheinklinik is good, a lot of it is freshly cooked and you can easily choose what you want. For breakfast and dinner there is a buffet where there are plenty of sausages and cheeses on offer - no one has that much choice in their fridge at home. In addition, there is a fresh grain porridge in the morning which is very tasty, and you can find quark and yoghurt on the buffet in the morning and evening. There is always very fresh bread in many different types and fresh rolls for breakfast. The house staff is very friendly and helpful in all departments. The staff in reception and at the headquarters are also very friendly and helpful. The nursing staff is well trained and can be contacted at any time, even if you have to wait because something else needs to be done. You will then be given a time when you can come back and there will be time for you. The doctors and therapists are simply tops in their field and there is nothing to complain about here. I have been going to the Rheinklinik regularly since 2005 and am happy to have this clinic where the focus is on people.
