::This place is dying. The bakery is gone, as is the butcher. Honestly, I kind of felt bad at first, as I enjoyed going here to avoid the masses flooding Lidl and Edeka across the street. But that feeling has gone, as I feel the poor customer service here may have something to do with this location's demise. I purchased an article a few months ago with a 5€ deposit on it and went back to return the empty keg. This first time I went the young man who works in the drinks department looked confused as to why I want my money back and proceeded to explain to me that there was definitely no deposit on the keg. Of course, even as per the manufacturer's website, standard deposit was five €. A discussion ensued, as the man with a scraggly beard rudely insisted that the store certainly hadn't taken any more money from me that the raw price of the article. I left, as I unfortunately had no time for talking that afternoon. A few days later I had some time and decided to venture again to the store to try my luck and see if I could get my deposit back. There I had the luck, or so I thought, of meeting the manager, who seemed like a rather friendly fellow. Turned out that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. In another version of why I couldn't get the deposit back I was served up a story that the store never sold the article and that I must be absolutely mistaken because a scanner showed an error message once reading the bar code. If I had had a puppy with me at the time, I would have sworn on its life that I had bought the article at that exact location. I even remember how happy and even how surprised I was when I saw the keg being offered at that particular store when I bought it that day. After discussion, the typical "blame the customer for being an idiot", and several arrogant and snarky remarks, the manager awarded me the 5€ to get rid of me. However, the performance was pitiful and the damage was done. Not only did he try and show me up, I didn't feel comfortable having what could have been an absolutely normal customer service discussion. For me, service determines where I shop. I won't be coming here again unless absolutely necessary. I'd rather pay a few extra cents at Edeka and feel like a customer.
