::These past months I found myself in the unfortunate position of organising a funeral on behalf of a loved one. Although, I have been a resident of Germany for quite some time I felt that navigating the funeral market in my second language would be too overwhelming. I remembered some time ago reading an article about Mymoria and decided to follow up to see if they would be able to put me in touch with some English speaking/friendly funeral homes in my area (Schöneberg). To my surprise, a lovely customer service agent Rena, reassured me that the language barrier would be no problem and that she would be happy to make all of the necessary arrangements with me over the phone. I do not wish for anyone to have to deal with the sudden loss of a loved one, but for those of my fellow expats who find themselves in a similar situation, lost without a paddle, you can rest assured that there are people out there who will work on your behalf and support you in your time of need.
