  A patient is considered "demanding" here (that's what I read in my file, code for: exhausting a...hole) if you want to be correctly perceived and addressed in your identity. Or you want painkillers because you are kept sober for so many hours without rhyme or reason that you are already dehydrated and this leads to immense headaches and even migraines. Especially if there are other people in the room (outside visiting hours) and create an unpleasant background noise throughout. If you find areas in the operating room that have nerve damage and this causes untold pain, you are obviously a terrible patient if you react accordingly. Because of the immense headache, the blanket was torn away because forcing someone with light sensitivity to stare into bright operating room lights is definitely a great idea. Quite apart from that, why does a surgical person touch me in an area that has NOTHING to do with the surgical area (not even used for access or similar) without first asking me whether I agree to this physical contact?! Physical autonomy doesn't seem to be the guiding principle here, as long as it doesn't have to do with faster mobility -> less work. Both in the preparation for the operation (first examination date, preliminary discussions, day of the operation) and in the operation, I would always be clearly misgendered and my corrections would be ignored or answered in a snippy/foul manner from "We usually treat women here" to "I have to But should I use first names or should I use first names?" After female pronouns were clearly used in a conversation ABOUT me. All I wanted was for my identity to be at least tolerated (I can't force anyone to accept it) and honored accordingly. But if you fall off the grid, that's obviously asking too much. Before the operation they tried to force unnecessary examinations on me. I tried to refuse this because I had already confirmed several times that this test would be negative and that this would make me dysphoric (immensely negative effect on my psyche). The doctor who explained it simply rolled over me like a steamroller and it was only when I threatened legal action after research that my wishes (again, physical autonomy ignored!) were granted. The only people who were really perceived positively were the night nurse Natascha and the nurse Pia in the recovery room. Pia, if you're reading this, the recommendation was the Virtous Pie in Cologne, remember to reserve, otherwise it will be difficult to get seats! All in all, I would only seek treatment here again if the alternative was that I would otherwise, for example, bleed to death internally. Although bleeding to death is really attractive to some of the staff here.

  During my operation in August I felt very well looked after, Dr. Diekert took a lot of time to answer all my questions and explain things to me. Very friendly. I am very satisfied and happy. The staff, whether in the secretariat or on the ward, were also very nice and helpful.

  Everything was fine, the examination is a bit uncomfortable, the waiting times are a bit longer. But that's completely normal in a hospital.
