  We came on a Monday evening for supper at the restaurant. There was a menu posted outside that we quickly scanned. We sat outside and enjoyed a view of the river. Considerable time passed before a waiter arrived. We only spoke English and asked for a menu. The waiter ignored us and explained that they were serving Wiener schnitzel tonight. We asked about other items but he repeated that they were serving schnitzel so 4 people order schnitzel and 1 person explained that they were vegetarian and he suggested a salad. We also ordered beer and wine at the same time and then we waited a long time. The beer and wine was delivered and again we waited a very long time. We had friends at another table who had arrived moments before us and they had the same experience with schnitzel except we got our food before they did and we suspected that our food was probably their order so they waited an additional considerable time to get their food. They did get a complimentary round of drinks for the mix up. In summary, we were very hungry that day because we had cycled to St Goar in extreme heat. The ordering process was very frustrating. The schnitzel was average however the salad was quite good but arrived after the schnitzel. The schnitzel was the most expensive dish on the outdoor menu at 18.50€ and the waiter seemed to imply that they only had schnitzel tonight. The wait times were very long. It’s likely that staffing is an issue at the restaurant.

  Sat down outside. There were a half a dozen other people eating or drinking at 4:30pm. A waitress that was taking her break, got up as we sat down. The other waiter proceeded to clear off two tables and take dishes back to the washer. After 5 minutes of being ignored I decided to check Google reviews. Ahhh. I see. Their service IS that bad. We left. Went across the street and within 90 seconds they were taking our order.

  I had dinner on the terrace of the restaurant. The waiter recommended schnitzel with whisky sauce, which was very tasty. At the end of the meal, I wanted to order a dessert. As the waiter wasn't coming back, I entered the restaurant, and reached the entrance of the kitchen. A young boy came to me and I said that I would like to order a dessert. He told me what they have, and, as I asked for some explanation on the desserts, he took something out of a fridge, I couldn't see what it is, and I thought that he wanted me to enter the kitchen to look at it. At this very moment, the waiter entered the kitchen, and told me to get out of the kitchen. I didn't even have the time to realise that I should get out of the kitchen and to do so, but he started to repeat this order in a very aggressive way ! Back on the terrace, I tried to explain to the waiter that I understood that the young boy wanted me to enter the kitchen, but it was impossible to be heard, because he was so angry. Even if I shouldn't have entered the kitchen, I think that a customer shouldn't be spoken to this way ! By the way, the dessert I chose, choko cake with cherry, was dry...

  They forgot my order and i waited for it 1 hour then i just got tired and asked for the bill, then they billed us with extra portions of food and beverages wich were never brought or ordered to us but they expected to pay for it. My friends said the food wasnt so great, atleast they ate something, i had to sit and look at them while waiting. Bad service, unprepared staff, nothing great about it.

  Ate at the restaurant late when everything else was closed. Staff was very nice and food was excellent. Parking was super convenient near the main road and had a great view of the river. Dankeschön!
