::Comfortable friendly hotel well located for Bayreuth Festival as well as for hiking and other activities in the beautiful countryside. The hotel was just as expected with a good room, great breakfast and good dinner restaurant too. Parking a little ways away. Only complaint is that smokers use the area in front of the hotel so you cannot use your balcony or leave your room window open as the smoke drifts in; nor is it nice to sit outside in the garden for the same reason.

::If you speak German this place might actually be quite nice... unfortunately I don't and I am pretty much screwed here. The staff are incredibly inattentive for a supposedly 4 star hotel, to the point of almost being a bit hostile, and the hotel and restaurant are completely unprepared for English only speakers (paperwork, menus, directions, all in German). Forget eating in the town as well; it's not much more English friendly there. The rooms are a little tatty and quite small for a 4 star, but otherwise would be decent for 3 star.
