Hotel Stadt Kassel is a hidden gem for food & wine enthusiasts in the charming town of Rinteln. The hotel has been recently renovated and is meticulously maintained. The rooms are clean and comfortable but the star of the show is the food & beverage program. The wine list is thoughtfully curated by the hotel's owner, Moritz, who's passion for the juice is evident in the selections his list offers. Pricing is some of the best in Germany, especially if you want to drink some of Germany's best producers like Keller, Huber and Bürklin-Wolf. The food is well-executed and unpretentious, as well as a great value. If you're in the area Hotel Stadt Kassel is definitely worthy of a slight detour on your trip! Looking forward to the next time I can visit!

I visited again the hotel after some years, still not bad hotel, room is correct, not nice but correct. Now the breakfast is not good, and the service is horrible and they lie, one day they have hot chocolate the next they say only cofee... They Only have cold milk with sugar, also not nesquik or some cacao. Only three hot dishes (bacon, sausages and omelette), no croissants, only bread... Rooms are outside the main building, if is raining to go to breakfast... I change my 5 for a 3, for me is very important the breakfast and the service can not lie you.

Unfortunately an unpleasant experience and very disappointing. Stayed here last weekend and No curtains, no WiFi in my room, no air con, I asked for an extra pillow to sleep better but told to wait till tomorrow. 2nd night the Bar/reception man left glasses out on the side bar at night with no one around for us to ask I assumed they’re for guests to use. I used just 2 glasses to celebrate with family. I get a call to return the glasses or police will be called! We are not thieves and it’s very rude and arrogant to assume this! This is threatening behaviour towards guests and it could have been handled better. I actually apologised out of courtesy, I just got more attitude from the reception man saying what behaviour is this!! Well you shouldn’t leave them out! Not hard to say sure use those ones, it would have left a better impression. We was apparently talking a little loud in our room without realising and then got given warnings and attitude again. All you have to say is “please speak a little quietly” then it would have been fine. We are all professional and educated people and got spoken down to. Apparently we was an inconvenience to guests for talking with our family in a hotel? We was also your guests from UK, Canada and Dubai. His poor attitude ruined a great trip for us and we felt uneasy the rest of the 4 day trip. They didn’t have a room available due to maintenance so they downsized my sister who needed a triple room for my a little nephew but we didn’t cause a fuss and needed a cot for him as the room was now smaller, they tried to charge us 90 extra euros for the cot after we was inconvenienced and was unbelievably rude again to my sister calling us the inconvenience. Is this how you speak to all your guests? I would never stay here again because of poor attitude and poor manners and I would find a place with more respect towards paying guests. Get hospitality training for him to converse in a polite manner and hotel management training. The only thank you I would say is to the cleaners.

The hotel itself is quite reasonable. Our room was a bit on the small side, but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dated, but the shower was good. We were also bothered by the TV-noise from other rooms. Breakfast is very good. The reason for the two stars is the service. The man on the reception was unwelcoming and rude (not a good first impression). The girl serving at breakfast was miserable, unfriendly and irritable. We would certainly not go back.

Centrally located old style building which I found very quaint. Comfortable rooms, clean bathroom and convenient parking. Excellent breakfast and enjoyable evening meal. Staff very friendly and have a good sense of humour. I pass through here often so I will make this my regular stopover hotel. Highly recommended
