  You can find a lot of attention for detail in this store! Things are put into the shelves with love and signs like "Milchstraße" (Milk-way) or "Keksplatz" (Biscuit place) speak for themselves. My highlight was the "too good to go" shelf, where they put food which you can take for free, since it's not as fresh anymore.

  Incredible meat selection, the chocolate variety is almost overwhelming. We bought enough chocolate to fill one carry on for less than $200, which should last until we go to Germany again.

  Lots of parking, polite helpful staff, a little more expensive than other supermarkets but the quality and organisation is worth it. If you like Waitrose in the UK, then this is the supermarket for you

  My preferred supermarket around Basel: The fruit and vegetables are excellent, good choice of wine, meat is always good and the fishes are all from sustainable sources.

  This small Hieber store is near the Vitra campus in Weil am Rhein. Smart option when the big store in Lörrach is so packed that you can't even find a parking spot. The small Hieber has almost the same selection of products as the bigger stores, just smaller quantities. Notable exception is pre-packaged ground beef/pork. You have to queue up to the meat counter which can take a while on a Saturday. The cafe has only a few hot items, such as meatloaf sandwiches, but no pasta or any other more elaborate hot dishes. OK for quick snack.
