This hotel was perfect for our hiking vacation. It is close to the Reinsteig trail and accepts dogs. The shower had great water pressure to wash the dog. It also had a great dinner menu and a wonderful breakfast, and they allow hikers to prepare sandwiches to take on the hike as well as provide the bags to pack them.

Great place and food! The two brothers that run the place very amiable and at times, for Germans, funny! Ha! Ha! Ritchie (Liverpool) In restaurant with Tina and Jochen last week. 30th Sept. '23

Great spot run by 2 brothers! We stayed for a night while passing on a walking holiday. Nice room that came with gumi bear bonus. Really good hearty food. Quality dumplings with my venison stew, and really good schnitzel. Way better food than we had the next night at a 4* hotel in St Goar (at much higher cost)! Host was super friendly, with great wine advice.

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Deutsches Haus during our recent hike of the Rheinsteig/RheinBurgenWeg (or, as we call it, "The Rhine Roam"). Our room was modest but clean...no air. But the owner, Edgar, was simply the best. His service was fantastic and we enjoyed his sense of humor. His brother (Willi) is the chef and a damned good one. We will never forget our dinners on their outdoor deck...wonderful meals coupled with a bottle of GB Sauvage Riesling (2012). Great memories! The breakfasts were wonderful and we were encouraged to pack anything extra for lunch....which we dutifully did each day. While there might be more comfortable rooms elsewhere in town, the experience of the Deutsches Haus was one of the highlights of our trip. We'd do it again tomorrow. Thank you Edgar! John & Pam

The owner made our stay there fantastic. Funny, friendly and welcoming, everything was tidy though simple. Our meal was quite good, and the wine recommended was fantastic. I was not sure why our trip architect has made us cross the river to spend the night and then cross back (we were hiking point to point), but this stay was well worth it.
