Ladies and Gentlemen I would like to complain about the inadequate treatment and diagnosis that Dr. Schumann experienced with our 7-month-old baby in your children's clinic last Sunday (February 25). We went to the emergency room due to our baby's severe cough, only to be told that it would get better within two to three days and prescribed drops without any proper explanation as to how to take them and for how long be. We then took our baby back to our pediatrician, where swabs were taken. The results showed that our baby was suffering from a mycoplasma infection. This diagnosis was extremely worrying for us as we assumed it was just a simple dry cough that would go away in a few days. It is extremely disappointing and worrying that such a serious condition was not adequately diagnosed, even though we made a special trip to the emergency room. We trust that emergency physicians have the skills and care necessary to ensure appropriate diagnosis and treatment, especially when it comes to children's health. We expect an explanation for this failure and appropriate action to ensure that similar incidents are avoided in the future. The health and well-being of our child is of the utmost importance and we rely on you to carry out your duties as a healthcare professional diligently.

We went in with our daughter the day after her first birthday, where we suspected she had broken her leg on her birthday while playing. Waiting was not a problem, we got in pretty quickly to see the doctor - but then the whole examination took about 3 minutes without the doctor not even checking the painful area. The doctor’s diagnosis was based on a previous infection my daughter had before Christmas, not the actual reason we were there for and she concluded it was a fluid buildup in her hip (it didnt even hurt in her hip, just her shin). I said as a mom, I do not feel okay with this examination and the only response I got back was come back if she gets a fever. Her shinbone, tibia, was in fact broken (!!!) and because it’s been Christmas and pretty much everything has been closed, we didn’t get it confirmed before two days after our visit to the hospital. This being a big hospital, I would assume they have the possibility to at least do a simple ultrasound (which was the way we got it confirmed by the way, not x-ray) and we could’ve spared our little girl two more whole days of pain, trying to help her walk and stand up again. This is not okay.

Our son contracted scarlet fever while on vacation and we had to go to the emergency room at the children's clinic in Rostock. The doctor and the nurses were super nice and we were helped very well. Our son felt much better after two days and we were able to start our journey home with peace of mind. So I was very positively surprised by the friendliness and, above all, the medical expertise, which we have never experienced before in our home country of Bavaria. Thank you very much from Bavaria and keep it up.

I am currently with my daughter (9 years old) in the children's clinic in Rostock on ward 10 (pediatric surgery). I can't thank you enough - you're all so loving, understanding, helpful and accommodating. She had major surgery on her hip and we were always in super good hands. The doctors are great, the nursing staff are excellent and our physiotherapist Susi is simply the BEST! You got my daughter back on her feet quickly and I would like to thank you all very much for that!! Stay as great a team as you have been...
