::This hotel is called "Am Hauptbahnhof" and that means "At the Main Station". Well, first things first: this hotel is not at the station. The train station is a good ten minutes walk so take that into account as you might be tired after travelling and you may expect - given its name - to find this hotel just steps away. You also have to walk through a rather dark tunnel under the many train tracks. If you find such things unpleasant then this is not the hotel for you. In a similarly misleading way, the images on the internet show the hotel much fancier than what it really is. The room is dark, mine had no view - as a matter of fact I looked into a nearby wall - and the corridors are narrow and dark with strange grey doors that make everything even more unpleasant (a prison comes to mind). When you come by car, be aware that the hotel's car park is extremely small and likely full. As an alternative, the hotel offers you a spot they rent in the garage of a residential building complex. It is not only very difficult to find but also far away when it rains!! The receptionist gives you a key - which strange enough you do not need at all - and you park your car under someone's home. Count at least ten minutes to get back to the hotel (I could not find the way on foot). Moreover, kind of awkward is that you have to roll your luggage trolley over the cobblestones in the courtyard of the large building complex, waking up everybody around with the rattling sounds. I do not think those who live there are very happy with the hotel! I had booked a double room. Having said that: do not expect a king or queen bed: in the German tradition this hotel gives you get a bed with two mattresses. That is rather uncomfortable and it always makes me wonder if German people sleep together at all. Also, the room is illuminated with bright halogen lamps. This is not only outright irresponsible these days, but also rather uncomfortable and i can imagine in summer they are hot in a room without air conditioning. The desk light is broken and so is the holder of the hair dryer in the bathroom. It all makes you wonder if the hotel operator is willing at all to invest just a little bit, to maintain or improve the hotel. If you are hungry, I wish you good luck. There is no food in this hotel and there is not much nearby, unless you like the Ethiopian restaurant Abessinia around the corner or the Turkish grill hut a bit further down; you get the picture!! The hotel does have a small bar but there is no menu really; some beer and wine and moreover the receptionist has to jump out of her job at the front desk to take your order and then again to serve your drink. It's all far from optimal. On the upside, the receptionist is kind and welcoming, everything is clean, and for one night you will survive this hotel. I paid 130 euro for the night and that is too much given all of the above. I would certainly not book this hotel if you plan to stay longer than one night.

::The hotel location was perfect. About 7 minutes walking distance from the train station. And then we discovered that the hotel was just 2 minutes walking to the metro station that can take you everywhere in the city. The staff welcomes you with a big smile and 2 beers and 2 bottles of water. The breakfast options were enough to stay there for more than a week. The room was clean, tidy and very big

::Best hotel in Nürnberg, stayed here the last day of my trip…regret not staying here all along. Wonderful staff, tons of free services, clean and spacious rooms which are very comfortable. Breakfast was great, bikes for rent for free too. Would not recommend any hotel over this one. Great deal for the price!

::What a pleasent surprise. To be honest I wanted to leave the hotel and find an other when I opened the door to my room. Found the decor tacky and lacking, but after a good nights sleep everything was much better. Spend four nights at this hotel and I got what I paid for and more. Borrowed bikes for free and rode round the city. Every interaction with the staff was very very good. Everyone was incredible nice and there were smiles all around. Had the shower been bigger and the room equipped with a safe this would have been a five star review. But all in all that was the only thing missing during this stay. Would definitely recommend.
