I've had a great time! Staff is friendly, plenty of animals to see despite the bad weather. Highly recommended, if you have a day to spare while in Berlin or if you want to see and learn more about some of the most beautiful and rare animals!

Family friendly - Absolutely yes. Despite the Zoo being within the city, they have maintained to give the animals enough space in their enclosures. Recently, there were quite a few empty enclosures, am positive it must be seasonal or because of COVID restrictions. Try finding the feeding time to schedule your visit. It is best to go during times that makes best use of the habitats you are interested in.

Awesome zoo!!! I recommend taking a day ticket with the aquarium included. Arrive early (before 11 at least) so you have plenty of time to enjoy everything.

The zoo is relatively not so big, but still has a lot of animals. We came there mainly to visit Panda and I would say just for that reason it is worth to come. I recommend buying tickets online to save a lot of time waiting in the queue. If you want to see all, need at least 6hours. We also liked a playground which is very big and can bring a lot of fun for children a any age.

We took almost 6 hours to roam around the entire zoo and have lunch in between. The zoo is well organized and interesting tidbits about the animals are on display. They have taken commendable efforts to mimic natural habitats of animals. One criticism is that some animals could have a larger enclosure, it feels a bit too small.
